Scenario:
On the 12th July 1988, the Soviet Union launched the Phobos 2 spacecraft to Mars. Its primary objectives were to investigate the interplanetary environment and study the surface composition of the Martian moon Phobos. The craft successfully entered an orbit around Mars in January 1989 and began to conduct its tests. On the 27th March 1989, shortly before the final phase of the mission when the probe would pass over the surface of Phobos, all communications were lost. But not before Phobos 2 transmitted its final, haunting image…
